I started listening to this today at work, and I actually started tearing up a little. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why, until I realized what I was listening to and remembered (consciously) the show from last year. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to listen to this song without getting a little melancholy. That’s what the best songs do though; they make you feel something.
If you can’t stand the slow, Eastern intro, skip two or three minutes in to get the the song proper.

The only thing he’s missing is a special power that makes you sacrifice your favorite character 5 turns into the game.
Also, Mutant Enemy is actually a reference to the production company, but I’m counting it as a full X-Men reference because this is a superhero game and Whedon did do some work on Astonishing X-Men.

reasons why suicide jokes aren’t funny
- people commit suicide and die in real life
- death is permanent
- suicidal people, especially young people (tumblr’s main constituency), are super easily triggered into attempting suicide
- suicide is a cry for help
so here’s what we shouldn’t do
